The Lichen Air purifier has been meticulously optimized to remove the most concerning air pollutants for health, particulate matter of 2.5 microns or smaller (PM 2.5). It accomplishes this task using industry leading high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) 14 filters which have been shown to remove up to 99.995% of particles at sizes of 0.3 microns or less.

Key particles captured by these filters include smoke, pollen, pet hair, mold spores, dust and microbes. Lichen Air features two large HEPA 14 filters which allow it to efficiently purify air in larger spaces and to rapidly and effectively respond to changing air quality demands. 

In addition to the HEPA 14 filters, the Lichen Air purifier filters come with corrugated carbon. Carbon helps trap molecules like formaldehyde and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as well as odors and gases.

Many air purifiers that use methods like ionization or UV radiation can produce harmful air pollutants like ozone. Lichen Air has been designed and tested to ensure that it does not produce ozone. 

Mold is a growing issue in indoor spaces. While the Lichen Air purifier can remove mold spores from your air, getting control over the source of mold (e.g., in your walls) should always remain a priority.

Easy! Simply remove the plate on the top of the unit by pressing down on each side of the top  front of the unit, pull the old filters out and replace them with new filters and remove the top plate.

At this time, we don’t have recycling options available for old filters. But we are looking into this!
